During the training, the trainee will be provided with the necessary information to support the work of the internal auditor, supervise the behaviors of the rest of the workers and promote strategic ideas for the continuous improvement of the work environment.
Is this a mandatory requirement?
It is a mandatory requirement for the company to obtain a COR or SECOR certification.
What will I learn in the course?
At Think Safety Solutions, we promote the following syllabus within the LSE course.
Identify the basic requirements of an occupational health and safety plan.
Supervisor's responsibilities regarding occupational health and safety management. Legal applications are taken into account to highlight the importance of committing to continuous improvements in this area.
Create a daily routine of monitoring safety processes.
Identify risks, whether they are physical or behavioral, and a great deal of preparation is required to find them.
Inspect workspaces to ensure that implementations are being applied.
Recommend new changes that promote safety to eliminate the risks found.
Contribute to ongoing staff training. It is critical that the leader provides input on the areas to train and the best way to do so.
Initiate and complete investigations of past events.
The primary objective of the LSE is:
To include a senior figure in the management of safety management in order to motivate a widespread interest in the improvement of processes.
By means of this training, it is guaranteed that the supervisor or manager will be obliged to be part of the safety optimization, since they are charged with responsibilities related to occupational hazards.
In addition, these members of the company are in a leadership position that guides other employees in performing their jobs. If they take an interest in health and safety, then they will get employees to commit to improvements and achieve a safe work environment.
On the other hand, delegating this training to a person outside of internal auditing decentralizes the company’s risk management and leads to duplication of effort. If both parties work as a team, they will achieve effective changes in a short period of time.
What do I need to pass this training?
To be LSE certified, you will need to pass all modules with a minimum of 80%. This assessment is done in writing and there are only two opportunities.
Here are the assessed modules:
Role of the supervisor, outlining their responsibility.
What a proper safety program looks like.
